World Language Department Vision
Language and communication are at the heart of human experience. We must educate students who are equipped linguistically and culturally to communicate successfully in a pluralistic society both at home and abroad. This imperative envisions a future in which students will develop and maintain proficiency in English and at least one other modern or classical language.
World Language Department Outcomes
Students will:
- Have the opportunity to communicate in languages other than English
- Have the opportunity to gain knowledge and understanding of other cultures
- Have the opportunity to connect with other disciplines and acquire information
- Have the opportunity to develop insight into the nature of language and culture
