Family and Consumer Sciences at Winnacunnet High School strives to foster across the life span the importance of being a positive contributing member of society by managing the personal challenges of wellness, family, work, community, and their interrelationships.

Students will:

  • Demonstrate understanding of nutrition principles across the life span</li><li>Promote wellness of individuals and families throughout life
  • Display appreciation of human worth by fostering a sense of community, self-esteem, ethical awareness, andacceptance of self and others
  • Exhibit skills in decision making, problem solving, communication, self-management, ability to work with others,research, and information use
  • Strengthen the well-being of individuals and families in professional, personal, family, and community relationships
  • Manage resources to meet the needs of individuals and families
  • Analyze the relationships of physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development across the life span
  • Become responsible citizens and leaders in family, community, and work settings
