What's this?
Winnacunnet has a new ecology themed club starting up this spring. Students from the Science Club and the Lighthouse Kids Club have been asked to help get the yet to be named ecology club up and running. If you are interested in recycling, water conservation, composting, sustainability or some other "going green" initiative and you want to get in on the ground floor of a new club, you should get involved.
How do I get involved?

- Your name
- Contact information (e-mail address)
- Possible names for the new club
- Topics of interest for club
- Goals of the club
Who else is in on this?
This club is brand new! There are several teachers that are working together to make it happen. Feel free to talk to Mrs. Noone, Mrs. Silver, Mr. Oswald, Mr. Ingoldsby or Mrs. Harris about it.
What has happened so far?
- We received permission from the school to be a club.
- We have applied to the Northeast Resource Recovery Association for a state membership.
- We have applied for a grant from the Friends of Winnacunnet Foundation to purchase a water bottle filling station for the main lobby.
- We have this page on the WHS site to help get the word out.
- We will meet with the Science Club and Lighthouse Kids on April 19 to get input on a club name and goals.
- We will have a meeting after April vacation and get this club going.

LifeSmarts
Welcome to the Winnacunnet High School LifeSmarts Webpage!
LifeSmarts is an education and competition challenge program that develops the consumer and and market place of high school students in an entertaing way. It is a great way to meet new people and learn about finance and other classroom curricula in a challenging environment. There will definitely be new things that you learn! Feel free to visit the LifeSmarts website for more information.
Meetings
The Lifesmarts Team meets mainly on the Thursdays of each month from 2:30pm to 3:30pm. At these meetings we hang around in Mrs. Arsenault's classroom (E-105) and take online practice quizzes, as well as quiz each other with flash cards. We are a very casual team/club so if anyone misses any of the meetings, we do not panic as they have the opportunity to practice at their house. On the right you can see the 2011 LifeSmarts Team (Mack Campbell, Mary Bertolino, Alexa LaMontagne, Joe Flynn, Hunter Owen, and the LifeSmarts Coach Mrs. Arsenault). You do not need any requirements in order to be on the team. Just come in and talk to Mrs. Arsenault and let her know you would like to join!

Recent Information
This is the second year that the LifeSmarts team has made it to the State Competition! Last year we placed third, and this year we are hoping to place first and head to the National Competition in Pennsylvania! Wish us luck! :)
Location
LifeSmarts meetings are held in Mrs. Arsenault's room (E-105). They are held after school from 2:30 to 3:30 on Thurdsdays. Meeting informating is presented in the morning announcements so be sure to listen up! Feel free to come at any time.

Fresh Start is a 3-day orientation to Winnacunnet High School for all members of the incoming freshman. The program runs from 9:00 am -12:00 noon each day. Fresh Start 2011 was a huge success. Thank you to all that participated.
