Family and Consumer Sciences at Winnacunnet High School strives to foster across the lifespan the importance of being a positive contributing member of society by managing the personal challenges of wellness, family, work, community, and their interrelationships.
Students will:
- Demonstrate understanding of nutrition principles across the life span
- Promote wellness of individuals and families throughout life
- Display appreciation of human worth by fostering a sense of community, self-esteem, ethical awareness, and acceptance of self and others
- Exhibit skills in decision making, problem-solving, communication, self-management, ability to work with others, research, and information use
- Strengthen the well-being of individuals and families in professional, personal, family, and community relationships
- Manage resources to meet the needs of individuals and families
- Analyze the relationships of physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development across the lifespan
- Become responsible citizens and leaders in family, community, and work settings
