Report Card Quick Reference Guide

Starting this year, Winnacunnet High School is implementing a dual grading and reporting system. This means that both the competency and traditional grade are reported on the report card each trimester. In a competency-driven grading system, competencies more accurately reflect a student’s learning progress and achievement, and the performance goals and progress are more clearly defined for students and parents/guardians. High Honor Roll Eligibility

Students must have a minimum 3.5 GPA of the trimester grades. All grades carry equal value. One “E” or “D” automatically disqualifies a student for honor roll consideration.

Honor Roll Eligibility

Students must have a 3.0 GPA of the trimester grades. All grades carry
equal value. One “E” or “D” automatically disqualifies a student for honor roll consideration.

Incompletes “I”

If your student received an incomplete, they must work with the teacher to make-up the missing work. Incompletes are managed by the student and the classroom teacher. Students who received an “I” as a grade have three weeks to complete the work. The classroom teacher will issue the final grade. If the final grade is not passing, the student must make up the entire class if it is a graduation requirement.

No Credit “NC”

Students receiving an “NC” must have achieved a 60% or better average but have not demonstrated sufficient, proficient or advanced evidence for assessment of one or more of the course competencies. If your student was issued an “NC”, they must work with a teacher after school to complete the competencies that they did not successfully meet. If the work is not completed by the end of the following trimester then the student must make up the entire class if it is a graduation requirement.

If your student received an “E” for a graduation requirement, please reach out to the school counselor to reschedule that course. If you have any other questions/concerns about trimester grades, do not hesitate to contact the school counseling department.
