SCHOOL CANCELLATION
In situations where safety may be in jeopardy for an extended period, the school will be canceled for the entire day. Announcements will be made on radio and television stations, see below for a listing of stations. Information will also be posted on the SAU 21 website (www.sau21.org/sau/) and the Winnacunnet website (www.winnacunnet.org). Notifications will be sent using the SchoolMessenger automated messaging system connected to PowerSchool.
DELAYED OPENING
In other situations, school opening may be delayed by two hours (this allows the weather to improve and allows time for early morning snow removal and ice control to take effect). Students should be at bus stops two hours later than usual. Walkers should arrive at school two hours after their normal time. Announcements will be made on radio and television stations, see below for a listing of stations. Information will also be posted on the SAU 21 and Winnacunnet websites. Notifications will be sent using the SchoolMessenger automated messaging system connected to PowerSchool.
EARLY DISMISSAL
Occasionally it may be necessary to dismiss school early. Such a decision will normally be made by late morning. Radio announcements will be made. Winnacunnet High School will close at 11:56 a.m. Information will also be posted on the SAU 21 and Winnacunnet websites. Notifications will be sent using the SchoolMessenger automated messaging system connected to PowerSchool. In the event of a school cancellation or early dismissal, all after-school activities and events will be canceled. This includes the adult education/evening school.

SPECIAL NOTE TO PARENTS
DELAYED OPENING: It is important that students do not come to school at the regular hour. There will be no one present at the school to provide supervision.
EARLY CLOSING: Parents should recognize that there will be days when students may arrive home earlier than normal. Plan accordingly. If parents wish to be contacted by the school, they must let the principal know in writing in advance.
Thank you for your assistance and cooperation.
